Password Management

The Center for Information Technology recommends that you change your Active Directory/INFOTECH account password every 30 days. Periodically, you will be forced to change your password. If you do not change your password when asked, it will expire and you will not be able to log in.

If you fail to login after three attemps, your account will become locked and you will have to contact the HelpDesk at x6931.

When choosing a password, there are a few guidelines you should keep in mind:


Password Resets/Lock outs

If you have forgotten any of your account passwords, click here to reset your password. If you are unsuccessful, the ATM HelpDesk can reset it for you. To reset your password:

  1. Come to the HelpDesk (5th Floor Harvey Library).
  2. Bring a photo ID and know your user name.

We will not issue passwords over the phone or send a password via e-mail.

If you have been locked out of your account after three (3) failed attempts, the HelpDesk can unlock your account over the phone. However, you will be required to use the correct password on your next attempt. This will not provide you with a new password.
