Academic Technology Mall (ATM)

Located on the 5th floor of the William R. and Norma B. Harvey Library, the Academic Technology Mall (ATM) is a state-of-the-art center providing Hampton University with the latest computing technology. The ATM is tasked with operating a comprehensive service center designed to support information literacy and promote the application of new and emerging educational technologies that enhance the teaching-learning process. The ATM is funded by a grant from the Kellogg Foundation and Title III funds, and is designed to acquire and integrate a wide variety of technology resources.

Educational Technology/Faculty Support Services

Educational Technology/Faculty Support Services focuses on the resources needed by faculty and students to use technology in teaching and learning. Our staff provide support for the hardware and software technologies that enhance curricular activities in and out of the classroom, and we continually explore new opportunities for pedagogical innovation. We offer on-one-one support as well as opportunities for classes and groups to interact with our professional and student staff. This unit is also responsible for training faculty on all administrative and campus/site licensed software.

HelpDesk/Client Support Services

The CIT HelpDesk provides Hampton University's computer users with computer account and desktop support, and serves as a point of contact for other CIT services. The HelpDesk handles the license agreements, organization, and distribution of global software to the campus. The consulting services include quotes for departments buying Apple and Dell hardware, software evaluation, and limited license software quotes.

This group also maintains the General Purpose Computer Lab at Hampton University. They provide up-to-date hardware, software and peripherals in each lab, ensure that every lab is physically accessible by all students and faculty, maintain a reasonable uptime on all lab computer systems, resolve any system problems as quickly as possible, provide accurate and timely support for all lab user, and create and share innovative new ways to manage and monitor computer labs.

Internet/Web Services

The Office of Web Services is a full-service unit, providing a full suite of Web design, Web development, Web support, and Web communications services to the Hampton University community. We also provide campus-wide Webmaster services and Web publishing support services, and provide architectural guidance and policy support for Web publications at Hampton.
