Data Conversion Management Lab (DCML)
Hampton University's Data Conversion and Management Lab's primary purpose is to convert legacy data into electronic format that is most compatible with client computer systems and most useful to their purposes. DCML also exists to maximize opportunities in the innovative and productive storage, access and utilization of electronic data. Projects range widely from the simple scanning and digitization of printed sheets of paper to the development of machine parts in a virtual environment.
The Helpdesk is responsible for the support and maintainence of end-user computer systems. This includes centralized support for computer accounts, CIT-managed computer labs, software distribution, and on-site computer and network support for students, facutly, and staff.
The Media Productions Center manages the audio/visual needs of the campus. This includes the recording of all University programs, events, and ceremonial occasions, coordinating a campus-wide audio/video equipment loan pool, managing all electronic bulletin boards, cable services, and non-academic broadcasting studios/television production.
Network Services is responsible for directing the design, implementation, operation, and support of the Hampton University network, as well as assisting in the design and implementation of classroom technologies.
