Overview
The Center for Information Technology (CIT) offers technology and services that enable students to focus on academic pursuits and activities that enhance the student experience. Although Hampton University strongly recommends that students have access to a computer, to the Internet, and to appropriate software, ownership of a computer is not a requirement for enrollment at the University. Since computing demands can vary widely from discipline to discipline, students are also strongly encouraged to ask whether their school or department has made any specific recommendations. For students who are undecided on their major, we have provided information as a general guideline for purchasing a computer.
